Automotive supplier Rheinmetall Automotive, a member of the Technology Group Rheinmetall, is systematically expanding its longstanding expertise in automotive lightweight engineering. Through its subsidiary KS Kolbenschmidt GmbH, the Neckarsulm-based company has now acquired¬ a 24.9-percent stake in ¬Carbon Truck & Trailer GmbH, Stade/Germany.

Rheinmetall Automotive receives order for fuel-cell components
The Technology Group, Rheinmetall, is systematically supplementing its automotive product portfolio in the direction of new driveline systems. In addition to products for electric vehicles, current development efforts include components for alternative powertrains, such as the fuel cell. Within this context, Rheinmetall Automotive is developing a recirculation fan for hydrogen not yet consumed within the fuel cell stacks, special coolant pumps for 400 and 800 voltages, and electric valves.

With E³ into the future
This year's IAA Cars will take place in Frankfurt from September 12 to 22. Auto-industry supplier Rheinmetall Automotive AG will be exhibiting its Kolbenschmidt and Pierburg brands on over 400 square meters in Hall 8 at Stand D 20. The motto "E³" stands for Emissions, Efficiency, and Electrification.

Major order from renowned truck manufacturer
Automotive supplier Rheinmetall Automotive, a member of the Technology Group Rheinmetall, has received another major order from a well-known Chinese manufacturer through the Pierburg subsidiary. From its production plant in Kunshan, the Neuss-based exhaust specialist will in future supply one of the world's largest producers of heavy-duty trucks with exhaust-gas recirculation and reed valves. The order has a lifetime volume of €155 million.

Variable valve train going into series production in China
Pierburg GmbH based in Neuss (Germany), a subsidiary of technology group Rheinmetall, has received an order worth over €90 million for its new variable valve control system UpValve. Production of the valve trains, which are also manufactured at the automotive supplier's Neuss plant, will start in 2019.
